World sports day.

london 2012 world sports day is presented by Llyods TSB. A unique opportunity fpr schools and colledges to celebrate  the athletes and cultures of the world, on Monday 25 June. Jrcs has the opportunity to be involed with this too. Mrs Howe will tell us more and watch the space for more infomation at the moment.

THe fire assemberly.

As part of the Achieve agenda that was new this year, and our form’s responsibility to be involved with the local community, we thought about bringing in someone from the community into Jo Richardson, to speak to Year 10 as it will motivate and educate us. 10H was determined to do this and Faith  looked up a Local Fire Brigade service, and got their contact details. From there Faith wrote out a draft email, and showed Mrs Maloney, their form tutor, which then Mrs Maloney forwarded onto our local Fire Brigade Service at Barking Fire Station.

On the 24^th November, Year 10 had period 5 off because the London Fire Brigade Service generously agreed to come into our school to speak to us about the dangers of fire, and how to stay aware if there is a situation of a fire.  They had a range of topics and showed us a presentation about the consequences of fire and also gave us an opportunity to ask questions.  The experience was very inspiring and interesting.  Afterwards they said that they would be happy for some year 10’to visit the London Fire Brigade Service.  We feel very privileged to be able to have the opportunity to arrange for someone to come into school and speak to us about this issue.  

Injections.

The other half of the year 10 year group is having their injections. That is 10e,f,g and h. If someone didn't hand in their letter for this injection they might be having their injection in February.

Children in need.

Boysfrom all across the school have been collecting money, they have raised a whopping £300+ for Children in need. They were rewarded with vouchers in assemberly by Mr Morgan. Well done to them.

Injections.

Today is the day for the lower year to have their injections. That is 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d. Hope you all are ok afterwards. The other half of the year group is having ours next week, 10e, 10f, 10g, 10h.

During every year at the time of November our school our teachers and some students grow facial hair to raise awareness for testiculare cancer.
